Ios Island Beaches

Awarded with the blue flag for its crystal clear emerald waters and fine white sand, Mylopotas is the most famous beach on the island of Ios. It is fully organized offering bathers a breadth of entertainment choices. Next to Papas beach on the eastern coast of Ios is Kalamos, a long golden sand beach with crystal clear waters that offers a special place for travelers seeking a heaven of tranquility. This beach is ideal for diving and snorkeling. On your  way there you will pass the Byzantine monastery of Agios Ioannis which is worth a visit.

Also awarded with the blue flag, Manganari beach is formed by 4 consecutive beaches, creating a majestic lagoon rightfully regarded as one of the most beautiful places to swim in all of the Aegean. While the first beach is fitted with many amenities and conveniences, the other three offer bathers a tranquil escape from the crowds. The warm waters and fine sand make it an ideal choice for a day on the beach with the family. Manganari was the base and one of the locations for Luc Besson’s movie “The Big Blue (Le grand bleu)”.

Situated amidst the beautiful beaches of Pikri Nero and Chamouhades, Manousou beach is another private sun and sea paradise for travelers seeking a tranquil escape under the sun.
